In Between

In Between is a musical in development, exploring how life sometimes forces us to face unresolved emotions, fears, and desires in the most unexpected ways.

Ash and Ben are two strangers in their thirties who met when they became trapped in a lift. Initially annoyed, they quickly realise their situation is far from ordinary: each time the elevator ascends, they rapidly age by a decade per floor. Now, racing against this surreal acceleration of time, they're forced to confront the emotional and physical stagnation that’s been holding them back. The story explores self-discovery, emotional vulnerability, and the surrender to life's unpredictability.
In Between was presented as a workshop production at the Now and Then festival at Goldsmiths, University of London, in September 2024. The musical is currently in development as it moves toward its next stage production.
